Peggy Elizabeth Obituary, Death – After a lengthy period of illness, Peggy Elizabeth Long passed away on December 14, 2023. Peggy was born in Tampa, Florida on June 22, 1953, however she grew up mostly in Union and Baker Counties. Peggy led a simple life, focusing on the arduous responsibility of raising her four children at home. She made the decision to halt traffic in order to save as many stray cats as she could because she has a great passion for animals, especially cats.

Many people in the neighborhood would refer to her as a sweet lady with a loving heart. Before Peggy, there was her mother Mary Barker, her brother Robert Barker, her husband Wendell Long, and her daughter Lori Nicole Anderson. Her children, Dana (Mark) Pelletier of North Carolina, Joshua (Lisa) Long of Live Oak, Stephanie (Brad) Crawford of Glen St. Mary, and

Gina (Peter) Stefani of Cedar Key, her grandchildren, Jackie, Letha, Selene, Alan, Nicholas, Luke, Gunnar, Amelia, Ty, Leah, Pete, and Jaclyn, her sisters, Linda O’Steen of Lake City and Betty (Dean) Elixson of Worthington Springs, and a sizable family group survive Peggy. On December 18, 2023 at three o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a memorial service honoring Peggy’s life at Elzey Chapel Cemetery in Lake Butler, Florida.
